Spiritual Formation

Vestry Liaison: Jill Clotfelter, Kim Swope

Mission
To plan, create, and implement regular opportunities for adult and children’s education, including the Sunday Adult Forum, the Wednesday evening Lenten series, Sunday School, and other special events as they arise.

Sunday Adult Form
This Lent, our parish will journey not only through scripture and worship, but also through story. Each Sunday morning during Lent, our forum will feature a short film that traces the movement from Ash Wednesday’s ashes to Easter’s radiant dawn. These films invite us to explore themes of wilderness, courage, justice, compassion, and renewal through the lens of narrative.

Bible Study
Our group meets over zoom weekly to study the readings for the upcoming Sunday.  These readings can be found online at lectionarypage.net    We are currently meeting on Thursday mornings at 10 am for 1 hour on the church's zoom platform.

Special Programs
Every year St. Paul's offers Advent and Lenten programs.  We have also offered presentations by community leaders, by vestry and ministry leaders, and by our Priest on a variety of topics.

Celtic Service
Our midweek service is a Celtic Eucharist each Wednesday at 5:00.

Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a method of Christian silent prayer that aims to cultivate an interior stillness, preparing a person to receive the gift of contemplation and a deeper relationship with God, who is understood as an Indwelling Presence. Br. Aelred will lead Centering Prayer on Saturday mornings, at 11am. Please chat with him if you would like more information about this practice.

Confirmation
Offered to adults and teenagers in consultation with parents to determine readiness to make the mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism (includes Reaffirmation and Reception).

Instruction (Baptism, marriage)
Instruction by appointment with our Priest, Br. Aelred Dean.
